Mikrofon („Keyboard ohne Kabel“)

In short

Klimperhelden does not collect any personal data on our side. There is no account, no server of ours, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking.

Everything the app stores stays on your device or in your own iCloud. We have no access to it.

Progress on the device

The app stores progress on the device: hero names, levels, stars, practice times, settings and your own songs. This is needed for the game to work (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR; storage on the device under § 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG).

A hero name is enough; please do not enter a child’s full name. You can delete players in the parents’ area. Deleting the app removes everything stored on the device; an iCloud backup remains until you delete it in the parents’ area (tab “Backup”).

iCloud backup (iPad and iPhone)

If someone is signed in to iCloud on the device, the app backs up its progress to the iCloud storage of that Apple account. Provider: Apple Distribution International Ltd., Hollyhill Industrial Estate, Hollyhill, Cork, Ireland. We cannot see this data (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).

You can turn this off in the iOS Settings under your name → iCloud. Apple’s privacy policy: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/

Backup as a file

In the parents’ area you can save progress as a file and load it again. The file only goes where you send it.

Contact and feedback by email

If you write to us, we use your email address and message only to answer your request (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR for questions about the app, otherwise (f); our legitimate interest is answering requests). We delete the message once it has been dealt with, unless statutory retention obligations apply.

“Feedback” in the parents’ area (behind the parental gate) only prepares an email; the app itself sends nothing. On iPad and iPhone it opens in the iOS mail window, otherwise in your email app, and you can change or delete everything before sending. If you choose, it includes technical details that help us find errors: app version, device model, operating system, language, the name of the connected keyboard and whether “keyboard without cable” is switched on. It contains no player names or progress. The email is sent through your own email provider.

Microphone (“keyboard without cable”)

Only if you turn this option on and allow microphone access, the app listens to recognise which note is played. The sound is analysed on the device only. Nothing is recorded, stored or transmitted.

Keyboard and speech

Notes from a connected keyboard are processed on the device only.

The heroes speak with ready-made recordings that are part of the app. We created these voices with the AI service ElevenLabs. Sentences without a recording are read by the device’s own voice. In both cases nothing is transmitted.

Purchases

The full version is sold by Apple as a one-time in-app purchase. Payment and account data are handled by Apple only. We only receive anonymous sales reports from Apple.

Crash reports via Apple

If you have allowed in the iOS Settings that diagnostic data is shared with app developers, Apple passes on anonymous crash reports to us (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw this at any time in the iOS Settings under Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements.

Windows program: update check

The installed Windows program checks shortly after starting and then every six hours whether a new version is available, and downloads it. It contacts GitHub (GitHub, Inc., 88 Colin P. Kelly Jr. Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA, a Microsoft company). In doing so, the IP address, time and program version are transmitted (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is to provide security and error fixes).

This website

The web pages klimperhelden.de with this legal notice, privacy policy and help are hosted and delivered by Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. When you open them, Cloudflare processes technically necessary access data: IP address, date and time, the page requested and the amount of data, referrer, browser and operating system. As the domain’s name resolution also runs through Cloudflare, it also processes the related DNS requests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is delivering the pages reliably and securely).

We have a data processing agreement with Cloudflare under Art. 28 GDPR (Data Processing Addendum, part of Cloudflare’s terms). Cloudflare is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. Logs of individual page views are not kept permanently; operational network logs are deleted after a few days according to Cloudflare. The pages set no cookies, use no analytics and load nothing from other servers. Cloudflare’s privacy policy: https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/

Children

Klimperhelden is made for children. We do not collect any data from children. Purchases and settings for parents are only available behind a parental gate.

Your rights

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection (Art. 15–21 GDPR), and you can withdraw consent at any time. As we do not store any data about you, such requests mostly concern Apple, Cloudflare or GitHub. Just write to us; we will help.

You can lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). The authority responsible for us is the Bayerisches Landesamt für Datenschutzaufsicht, Promenade 18, 91522 Ansbach, Germany.
